Last night was pretty fun, when I got home I was presented with a big bowl of home made chili... to bad there is none left for lunch today. Next we went off into town (the town of Oakville) to have some ice-cream and walk around.
We ended up going to a small pet store(My Best Friend Pet Boutique) along Lakeshore. Within the store we found out that they do small puppy training classes, and its being done by the lady who started "Dealing with Dogs" which is where I took Amber about 9 years ago and really liked the training style. Also at the pet store, if we are to buy everything we need for a new puppy, we will get 10% off which is great! I much prefer supporting the smaller stores, although for dog food I think we will still end up at Superpet or Petsmart.
Next on our travels was a bookstore, Since I just finished "The Dragon and the Fair Maid of Kent", I was in need of something new. So after talking with the kind folks at the store, I ended up purchasing "Kydd" by Julian Stockwin. Here is an excerpt:
Europe is ablaze with war. The British prime minister is under pressure to intimidate the French, and dispatches a Navy squadron to appear off the French coast. To man the ships, ordinary citizens must be press-ganged.
Thomas Paine Kydd, a young wig-maker from Guildford, is seized and taken across country to be part of the crew of the ninety-eight-gun line-of-battle ship Duke William. The ship sails immediately and Kydd has to learn the harsh realities of shipboard life fast. Despite all he goes through, amid the dangers of tempest and battle, he comes to admire the skills and courage of his fellow seamen, taking up the challenge himself to become a true sailor and defender of Britain at war.
When I got home, I called my Mom to see how Nimble was doing... She just had an operation which removed her capabilities from reproducing. It appears that she is doing well after the operation but is having issues dealing with the cone on her head to stop her from touching the stitches.
Fast forward to this morning, MIX 99.9 finally formally announced that Humble and Fred are going to be the new morning show. They promise to suck less, which is what we all hope for ^^;
FYI: For Ripkin fans, in a previous comment in my message area, Ripkin is now in Winnipeg doing a radio show there. If your a fan, and miss him from his days at MOJO Radio, you might want to search there for an audio stream so you can listen to him once again.
