Truth in ficton is never been more true than in 'The DaVinci Code' by Dan Brown. I'm listening to it via the audio book (audible.com) on my iPod and am enjoying every minute of it. At one point they start talking about the the divine proportion and phi. Beyond the description found in the book, I set forth to find out a little bit more about phi, mainly because I've never heard of it before, and if the book was even remotely accurate about phi, I think I should know something more about this fact. I was brought to Mathworld (sounds like fun eh?) where they have a good section on the divine proportion otherwise known as the golden ratio. So if your at all interested, give it a quick read, it may help you understand some things in the book, or perhaps life in general. Also GoldenNumber.net has some good info as well, including a section about Phi and Art, which is a major topic in the book.
