Oakville election:
Mayor - At Large | # of Votes |
Ann MULVALE | 15728 |
Rob BURTON | 15716 |
Now look at the difference in the number of votes between these to candidates. Just 12 votes! This says how important it is to vote, because every single vote - especially in this case - counts.
Congrats to the re-elected mayor, Anne Mulvale. One word of advice, do better this time, because at least 15,716 people thought someone else could have done a better job.
Just as an FYI, the green party presence is Oakville is large, and Rob Burton is a member of said party. The main issue is Oakville's expansion of the "Urban Sprawl" passed Dundas and into the Oakville moraine.
Also during this election, there was a vote to limit the use of pesticides those results are as follows
NO | 15066 |
YES | 14073 |
With so many green party members being elected into council, I'm more than a little confused as to why people wanted to continue the use of potentially harmful chemicals on their lawns. Go figure.
