Things to do before installing an operating system

I have an old sparcstation that I bought off ebay years ago. So I was about to install a new OS on the system after it was sitting underneath my old bed at my parents house. I couldn't remember why it was there, until just now.

I booted up the OpenBSD 3.3 floppy disk, and hit 'I' for install, and it failed. why? no hard drive found. So I opened it up and sure enough, no hard drive. My best guess is that the hard drive failed at some point and I tossed it. Now I have to see if it is worth it to get a new scsi hdd in the system, I don't need anything big -- 200-500 mb in size, but the question is, is it worth it?
